Past Pupil Messages

Please read some paragraphs from our previous Y6 pupils who are now thriving as Y7 pupils in Cantonian.

I have had the best experience moving to high school, I know that high school can be intimidating to look at, but it’s actually very fun and good to make new friends. I said to myself before I transferred that I would stick to my friends I have now but the amount of new friends I have made is exceptional. There are loads of older ones running around and you have probably heard of them being bullies but they really aren't that scary, they will more than likely help you then scare you! Lunchtimes are amazing! When you're in year 7 you get a extra 10-15 minutes before the older years come out. Overall high school is bigger and better and there are more things to do. You can follow things you like, for example, Music, Spanish, Drama ect. At break and lunch you will have your own playground that only your year is allowed in ( c block) if you don’t want to be in a big area straight away. It will all be okay there’s nothing to worry about you will have a incredible time!!

I used to be really scared of high school. I thought that I was not going to make any friends and I would just hang around with the friends I made in primary - but as you join Cantonian, you have many more options! There are more subjects to learn and from my experiences I have had a lot of fun being able to make lots of new friends and pushing my self to have good grades. My favourite subject is English. I love writing stories and enjoying fun writing experiences. Before I joined high school I used to think that the teachers would be scary, but they are just here to help you and push you to reach new limits. You will be fine! Don't be scared of anyone just keep working make new friends and just be you!!!!
