At Fairwater Primary School we work collaboratively with Family Links and provide a Parent Nurturing Programme. The programme is a 10-week course that will look at topics such as:
- Understanding why children behave the way they do.
- Recognising the feelings behind behaviours (ours and theirs)
- Exploring different approaches to discipline.
- Finding ways to develop co-operation and self-discipline in children.
- The importance of looking after and nurturing ourselves.
The sessions can be delivered in a group, individually either online or face-to-face.
The sessions are 10 x 2 hours with a break for refreshments in each session.
You can join the sessions alone or with a partner or another relative that supports you in the care of your child.
The programme is delivered in an informal style with approximately 10 adults.
You will receive a Parenting Puzzle book and other materials to support your learning over the 10 weeks.
The programme is best suited to parents with toddlers, nursery and primary aged-children.
Parents/carers participating in this group can, if they wish, complete an AGORED accreditation at Level 1.
